The simsimiyya is a Sudano-Egyptian stringed musical instrument that reappeared at the beginning of the 20th century. This model is a professional 15-string instrument.

Kabak kemane

The body of the kamenche consists of a round neck which passes through a small round sound box made of coconut covered with a thin membrane of sheepskin. Traditionally, kamanches once had three silk strings, however modern models have four metal strings.
